How Dune: Awakening wipes work
Dune: Awakening is an open-world survival game by Funcom set on Arrakis. Players gather water and spice, build bases, craft vehicles and fight for resources. In multiplayer, the Deep Desert has separate PvE and PvP instances that are wiped and reshaped every week by the Coriolis Storm.
Dune: Awakening does not wipe your character. Instead, multiplayer Deep Desert instances reset every week in the Coriolis Storm. The storm strikes each Tuesday morning during the server's daily restart: bases and structures left there are destroyed and the area is regenerated with new resource locations. The Hagga Basin and character progression are not affected. Exact times vary by region; our countdown uses the North American window and the in-game Communinet warning is the most reliable source for your server. In single-player, the map and buildings do not reset.
What gets reset
- Bases and structures built in the Deep Desert
- Items, containers and vehicles left in the Deep Desert
- The Deep Desert layout and resource locations
What you keep
- Your character, skills and progression
- Bases and items in the Hagga Basin
- Anything you carry or store outside the Deep Desert
- Deep Desert progress in single-player mode (added in 2026)
How to prepare for the next wipe
- Bring your loot and vehicles back to the Hagga Basin before Tuesday's storm.
- Watch for the storm on the horizon and the Communinet warnings — they appear hours before the apex.
- Plan big Deep Desert builds right after a reset to get a full week of use.
- Scout new spice fields and resource nodes early: the map changes after every storm.
