How Gray Zone Warfare wipes work
Gray Zone Warfare is a tactical extraction shooter by MADFINGER Games, set on the fictional Southeast Asian island of Lamang. It entered Early Access on April 30, 2024. Players join one of three private military companies, complete vendor tasks and fight AI and other players in a persistent open world.
Gray Zone Warfare is in Early Access, and MADFINGER Games uses wipes with major updates to introduce large system changes and rebalance the economy. Night Ops (November 2024), Winds of War (0.3, May 2025) and Spearhead (0.4, March 2026) each had a full progress wipe. Update 0.5, Rogue Ops, launches publicly on October 22, 2026, after a Supporter Edition preview beginning October 19. Its soft wipe removes lockers and money but transfers Update 0.4 progression. On first entry, each player must irreversibly choose whether that existing character progression moves to PvE or PvEvP; the character's faction remains unchanged.

What you keep
- Rank, vendor levels, completed tasks and statistics in the 0.5 soft wipe
- Account-bound apparel, such as Twitch Drop clothing
- Your nickname and purchased game edition
- Edition bonus equipment is issued again after a full global wipe
How to prepare for the next wipe
- Your locker and money are wiped either way, so use your best gear before the update.
- In 0.5, finishing tasks and leveling vendors before the update still pays off because that progress is retained.
- Supporter Edition owners can enter the 0.5 preview from October 19, but must choose carefully whether to transfer their existing progression to PvE or PvEvP; the choice cannot be reversed.
